About this book

“May I entreat, in closing, your earnest prayer, each one of you, that in this house as well as in all the places of worship round about, Christ may evermore be preached.”—Charles Spurgeon

How did Charles Spurgeon preach in the midst of a revival?

After seven years of God-given revival, Charles Spurgeon moved with his congregation to its iconic venue: London’s Metropolitan Tabernacle. As ministry expanded and membership grew, Spurgeon faced new challenges with the same conviction: to preach Christ and Him crucified so that men might be saved. Read this beautiful new collection of sermons to see why preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ is necessary in every season of ministry.

The second of six collections of Spurgeon sermons:

C.H. Spurgeon Sermons
On a Sunday evening in January 1851, sixteen-year-old Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892) preached his very first sermon in a thatched-roof cottage in Teversham, a small village outside of Cambridge. Over the next 40 years, the man we now know as the “Prince of Preachers” would preach thousands of powerful, Christ-exalting sermons to the people of London.

This collection presents Spurgeon’s sermons in 63 volumes, compiled each year between 1855 and 1891, from his ministry at the New Park Street Chapel and the Metropolitan Tabernacle. In 63 volumes, you will be reminded of the glory of God, Christ, and the gospel through brilliant expositions filled with Spurgeon’s timeless illustrations and memorable wordplay.
